> kWhPrice compares the real cost of charging an electric vehicle across US public charging networks, home charging, and all 50 states. All figures are estimates derived from published network rate cards and U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) residential electricity data, reviewed quarterly.

kWhPrice is an independent, ad-supported reference site. It is not affiliated with Tesla, Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo, or any charging network or vehicle manufacturer. Charging costs are estimates and vary by location, time of day, and membership status.

- Charging cost formula: full charge ≈ battery kWh × 0.8 (typical fast-charge fill) × network rate per kWh.
- National average residential electricity rate used for home-charging estimates: 16.5¢/kWh (EIA).
- State electricity rates range roughly 3.6× from cheapest (Idaho/Washington ~10.5¢/kWh) to most expensive (Hawaii ~38¢/kWh).
- Coverage: 13 charging networks (including home charging), 51 EV models, all 50 US states.
